Current configuration at a glance
The supplied version of erothots.ca is a static editorial website. Its own JavaScript provides a responsive navigation menu and an optional Blog page filter. That script does not set first-party cookies, store tracking identifiers in local storage, or run an analytics system. The delivered files do not include Google AdSense, Google Analytics, marketing pixels, reader-login cookies, or a newsletter-signup database. There is therefore no site-operated preference or advertising cookie banner in this build.
That description applies to the website files as delivered, not to every possible hosting configuration or future update. A web host may use infrastructure logs or security services, and third-party resources may operate under their own technical practices. The site owner should review the live deployment if additional tools are enabled through the hosting account or site-management panel.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of data a website or related service may ask a browser to store. Cookies can support features such as login sessions, language preferences, shopping carts, analytics, fraud prevention, and advertising. Some expire when the browser session ends; others remain for a set time unless removed earlier. Other technologies, including local storage, pixels, and server logs, can serve related but technically different purposes.
Not every website uses all of these mechanisms. A static page can be read without creating a personalized account or setting a tracking cookie. Likewise, an external server can receive an ordinary image request without the website itself storing a cookie. Accurate disclosure requires examining the actual code and enabled services, not merely listing every technology used somewhere on the internet.
Essential technical delivery
The website's HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and article photographs are served through the selected hosting environment. The server may receive connection and request information that is necessary to deliver the requested files or maintain security. Those network transactions do not, by themselves, prove that a browser cookie has been stored. The exact practices of Hostinger or a different hosting setup should be checked in the account's current settings and provider documentation.
The website's mobile navigation and Blog filters work directly in the browser without saving persistent preferences. If you close and reopen the page, filter settings are not deliberately retained by the site script. There is no built-in login state, shopping basket, or saved-article system that requires an application session cookie.
External homepage photographs
Two homepage editorial photographs are requested from an external image host. When a browser loads those images, it makes a request to the provider. The provider may receive technical information about that request, and its own systems may have privacy or cookie practices beyond what is visible in Erothots' local static files. The images do not require readers to register with the image provider or interact with a separate account.
The supplied article photographs are delivered as local files on the website. The distinction matters because ordinary image-hosting requests can involve another company even when the site does not embed a social feed or advertising script. The Privacy Policy provides more information about third-party delivery.
Contact form and email communication
The optional contact form posts to FormSubmit, a third-party message-forwarding service. Completing the form may involve requests to that provider, which can apply its own security measures and technical processing. The website's source code does not itself create a persistent first-party cookie for form submissions. The form requires first-use confirmation by the site owner before delivery can be considered activated.
Emailing admin@erothots.ca directly does not require a cookie from Erothots. Your own email provider may use cookies when you access its website or app, but those are not set by Erothots. Avoid entering sensitive information into either contact channel, and review the relevant provider's privacy information if you want to understand its independent processing.
Analytics and measurement technologies
The delivered website does not include a Google Analytics tag or another installed behavior-measurement script. It does not run on-site remarketing pixels or maintain a visitor-level analytics profile. Basic server diagnostics may still be available to the host; the presence, configuration, and retention of such diagnostics cannot be verified by inspecting static page code alone.
If a future administrator adds an analytics service, the Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy should be updated to identify the service, the data involved, and any applicable consent or opt-out choices. Controls should be implemented in the actual interface before the site claims that readers can use them. Listing an analytics provider here is not an assertion that such a provider is currently integrated.
Advertising and personalized ads
No advertising scripts are included in the delivered build. Erothots does not currently set Google advertising cookies through its site code, and there is no published audience-personalization system in the files. If AdSense or a comparable service is enabled later, it may use cookies or similar identifiers for functions such as ad delivery, measurement, frequency management, fraud protection, and personalized advertising where permitted.
Such a change may require additional disclosures, a consent management mechanism for affected regions, vendor information, and appropriate settings for non-personalized advertising. The site administrator should examine current Google policies and applicable legal requirements before activating ads. A future consent control must be functional; a decorative banner would not substitute for actual preference handling.
Managing browser cookies
You can inspect, delete, or block cookies through your browser's privacy or site-data settings. Many browsers provide controls for third-party cookies and restrictions on cross-site tracking. The precise menu names vary by browser and version. Clearing browser data can remove preferences or logins for other sites as well, so review the scope before taking action.
The current Erothots pages are designed to remain usable without accepting advertising or analytics cookies because those categories are not part of the delivered site code. Disabling all browser storage may affect other websites you use, but it should not prevent the ordinary reading of Erothots articles. Browser extensions and device-level privacy software may also influence how external images or contact services load.
Duration, consent, and updates
Because the delivered site does not set first-party tracking or preference cookies, it has no Erothots-owned cookie expiry schedule or consent receipt to list. The duration of any cookies set by separate providers or hosting integrations is governed by the configuration and policies of those services. It would be misleading to assign exact lifetimes without observing the live installation.
If tracking or personalization features are introduced, the owner should record their purposes, providers, approximate durations, and consent basis where applicable, then update the page and site controls. Review any changed third-party scripts after deployment and whenever providers alter their technologies. Website policy pages should describe practices that are truly implemented, not features planned for a later release.
Questions
For questions about the website's cookie practices or to report an unexpected tracking feature, contact admin@erothots.ca. Include the page, browser, and a clear description of what you observed if possible. The Privacy Policy provides broader information about contact messages, hosting requests, and third-party services. No additional company identity, mailing address, or regulatory registration has been invented for this site.
